There is nothing more important to me than my family and the harmony of all its members. I have experienced when quarrels, misunderstandings or hurt pride have separated siblings, or parents and children. It is shocking and sad, to say the least. The worst thing is when this kind of disagreement is allowed to go on for years or decades, and the pride of both prevents reconciliation between the people. Sometimes the parties can reconcile when the other family member is approaching death, but in some cases the disagreement between the people is never reconciled or discussed, before the death of other.
I have experienced this in my own family, where my mother’s sister became angry with my mother, not because of something my mother did, but because of something my oldest brother and his girlfriend did. They didn’t speak for almost 10 years because of the hurt my aunt experienced and she made my mother pay for it.
I will do everything I can to find ways to prevent this kind of thing from happening to my sons, their wives and children. It will be one of the most important things I do in my life.
