The finding or creation of a purpose
forcing focus on a goal set in straw,
is it me or my strict adherence, to a
socially expected stage performance
set in culture, where I am conscripted
to learn, work, grind, gain and obtain
property, degrees, titles and status,
for the advancement of my storyline
that I maybe did never care for much
when all the work was said and done
I had won, but it never was my story
it was conformance with some old
notions of success and respectability,
being played in my mind, like the old
vinyl records that just kept spinning,
because that it all they could ever do
I have realized all this over time spent
re-evaluating everything top to bottom
putting my best foot forward yet again
to a different destination somewhere.
