I am sitting inside, sitting in the comfort of a modern building, built for comfort of heating and strength, strength to keep weather away from humans, for humans to live through bad weather, weather that can kill, weather that has killed tens of thousands of people, killed with frost and wind, wind that is furious, the fury of angry gods, angry elements that have no mercy, no mercy for adults or children, children that go to school in the fury, the fury that freezes children to death, a death that has a certain name in Iceland, the name is: “að verða úti”, meaning “to remain outside”, remaining outside forever, the soul lost outside in the weather, the Man Killing weather, and I am looking at it right now, through my window.
