The material world now overflows
with disagreement and with rage
more anger on a newspaper page.
Human tendency is to pick a side
to pick a just cause over the bad
just to find that we’ve been had.
The news told before was neutral
but now it is from a point of view
from a perspective it comes to you.
It is troubling not to grasp the facts
when an ideology distorts the truth
bad for us, but worse for the youth.
If truth and facts are not the news
no matter which side they are from
you trust no-one, you become numb.
So people retreat, lock themselves away
make up their own facts, truth and trust
for people protect themselves, they must.
