RAIN AND THAW

My sight drifts to the morning window
attention straightens it’s back to peer
watching raindrops land on the ground
observe nature trying it’s best to steer,

the course and tides of cycles planned
and carve away the cold winter’s gnaw
boldly banish the stagnation of spring
attacking with rain and applying thaw.
