There is a curious feeling in us
an impulse almost
for an action taken in the past
or a inaction left be.
How can a man mourn today
words said long ago
words that attacked another
and cannot be unsaid.
They say that regret is forever
but pain is temporary
n’ truer words are hard to find
knife is in the wound.
The graver the offense made
the graver the regret
no cure does exists for regret
and feel it you must.
