The Great Hall of Viking Lodge Hotel

In a land of make believe, there exists a hotel, which is an old Norse theme hotel called “Viking Lodge Hotel”. This an enormous and beautiful building, built in the style of a longhouse with a “stave church” roof structure.

The interior is made to look both old and natural, with a short cut green carpet on the floors and the walls are made of dark wood, carved in old Viking themed shapes and characters from Norse mythology. Behind the lobby at the entrance, there is the great hall that runs through until the end of the hotel. It is one open area, with a great 400 foot long fire in the middle the middle of the hall. On the sides there are 4 floors on each side, with entrances to all the hotel rooms.

No of the hotel rooms have a TV screen or a radio in them. Why not you may ask?, and the answers is that the guests are supposed to entertain themselves and others in the great hall. This is because around the great long fire there are tables and seats, long benches and blankets all around. The guests must become like the old Viking people in the Longhouses and mingle with all the other, introduce themselves and tell each other stories.

Children are welcome also, both to listen and to tell stories themselves in the evenings. In the daytime the guests are encouraged to travel around Iceland, see all the sight, read about all they are seeing. Then when they come back, they go and have a feast dinner in the Norse dining hall, and then go to great Viking hall to talk, chat, tell jokes and tell great stories.

Life is about telling stories, your own stories and other peoples stories.
