AIMING HIGH

Ambitions of men are a never quenching thirst, a never ending pursuit of validations, based on perceived metrics that constantly change like the weather in the arctic. No matter how many goals one obtains, victories one claims, money one pockets or admiration one generates from others, it just never seems to be enough. One is scratching for valuables in a bottomless pit and reaching for meaning in a black hole of hollow hopes, created by one’s self on a daily basis.

Always working toward something, aiming higher in life and never finding the relief and meaning to one’s existence. The relationship between one’s inner and outer world, constantly shifts and cracks according to one’s shifting expectations and seeks this uneven balance, between purposeful action of the outer world and justified inaction in search of peace of the inner world. Our struggle between these two worlds, cause us inner conflict, overthinking and anxiety.

Despite this, I am for all actions of aiming higher in every aspects of life, of improving and creating one’s purpose. It creates order, direction, priorities and a sense of value of one’s life and character. It facilitates bonding with other people and community, opens one up to love and being loved, the yearning for a spouse, children and a home of your own. Lastly, it inspires one to build a better society for one’s own family, friends and the community around you, that will hopefully last many lifetimes.
