CLICKING SWORDS
For years I trained, with my sword
with all the passion I could afford
fenced with bruises and with pain
these sparring sessions do remain
a pleasing memory in middle years
to remember my victories n’ my tears
but once my sword broke, at the tip
I almost my opponent’s flesh, did nip
for I realized this, as I lunged at will
so glad I did not, the poor fellow kill
I miss the misfits, who trained with me
would time travel back, them all to see
to fight another duel, as a younger man
my endless energy clicking swords again
to feel youthful again, childless and free
these are the thoughts, attending me.
