RHAPSODY IN BLUE
You enticed me rightly as a teenager
lured me to you with a jazz expression
high pitch melody dancing on it’s own
like a storytellers prologue to a tale
told by a Gershwin orchestra, boldly,
the music describes to me a journey
through an Allegro of busy city streets
the cars honking and traffic moving
people hastily moving about town
trucks rushing with products in the city
but then in between I am transported
with simple melodies into a dream
far away from the cosmopolitan noise
only to be thrown back into the streets
of the bombarding traffic scene of a city
described to me my a piano and oboe
as if I was watching a silent picture
but while sitting on a roller coaster
providing me an opportunity to have
a lively adventure, told through music.
