THE RUDE RAIN

THE RUDE RAIN

Today is a Saturday in the Hight of summer
the day to worship Saturn, the Roman god
and I planned to do things on this very day.

The Gods are being moody and themselves
so they thought it funny to let it rain today
and then see how I would respond to that.

Well, I am not happy about their rude mess
and I will find a way to revenge upon them
for thwarting my plans on my good Saturday.

It is my son’s birthday today, now 19 years
and a plan of barbeque meats and burgers
was set to expectation, and outdoor dining.

In addition it is windy also, on top of the rain
so that Iceland now looks like rainy Scotland
a fate that no one wants for themselves, ever.

But this won’t stop my plans to raise a feast
no weather has ever stopped an Icelander,
in completing his vision for the tasks ahead.

A feast will be held and loved ones welcomed
we will celebrate years lived, and years loved,
and enjoy our precious moments together.
