The darkness here in Iceland is all around
no glimpse of sunshine is on the ground
mornings are black, and afternoons too
we avoid the Trolls outside, as would you
we wait and wait for that sacred of days
when the gods return the sunlight’s rays
to return to us again, and bring a smile
for we have waited for that, all this while.
