On this day my family look forward to bake
Yule cookies for the festive time to make
and enjoying each others presence and life
in creating dough and cookies with a knife
in the shape of things in our stories of old
that for many generations have been told
we will tell stories, remember times gone by
and sitting at the table will remind us why
why we love each other and creating our joy
remembering being a little child with a toy,
remembering why we bake for good reason,
remembering why we all love this season.
